Customer Review: Errors for All
This item comes with two arm bands, a 'small' size which fits 9" through 13" arms and a 'large' size which fits 13" through 17." This product was purchased for an elderly, diabetic person with a 16" upper arm. The large band did not provide enough overlap for the band to stay secure while being pressurized. Despite repeated tightening, repositioning and holding the band closed, the monitor continued to give no readings, but error messages. The error codes referred to the band not achieving enough pressure. Two other adults, with smaller arms in the 13" to 14" range, also used this device with the large size, but the velcro on the arm band is not sufficient to keep the band snug while being pressurized. There were no young adults or children present on which to test this device. I have contacted the manufacturer, Homedics, inquiring if they offer "x-large' arm bands. If they do not, I asked them to accept the item back through their company as the pharmacy I purchased this item does not accept returned medical devices.
